("CDS") was founded with the initial acquisition of two schools in 1988 and today operates as three early childhood education brands - Childcare Network, Sunrise Preschools, and My Small Wonders. CDS is headquartered in Austin, TX today and is the fourth largest private child care provider in the United States, with 265+ brick-and-mortar centers across more than ten states. Every day, the company serves more than 30,000 children aged six months to 12 years old and is the market leader in the Southeastern United States. The organization is privately held and conservatively leveraged, and ownership and management are committed to rapid growth over the next 5+ years.

The Acquisition Integration Manager role will report to the Director, Corporate Development and will directly support the Corporate & Real Estate Development Team to achieve CDS's growth goals. The qualified candidate is a forward-thinking professional, responsible for helping to drive the strategy, timing, and orchestration of integration motions for CDS's newly acquired or developed centers. The Acquisition Integration Manager provides guidelines, structure, and documentation to close acquisition transactions, integrate operations, and make adequate, realistic staffing and resource allocation decisions in the post-merger organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of operational experience and relevant childcare center expertise, handling a range of cross-functional teams, and experience leading multiple priorities at once (experience with licensing and quality expectations considered a plus)
  • Strong consultative approach to problem-solving and ability to deliver with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to build project goals, messaging, communication, and overall plans
  • Strong acumen, hands-on approach and confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to track and manage complex processes from start to finish
  • Process-oriented and highly organized, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong team collaboration skills
  • Experience with Monday.com is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and take ownership for all aspects of integration efforts, while working with the Corporate Development team and other functional experts across the company
  • Partner with Development Leadership by providing project management support for ongoing and new acquisition efforts. This includes support during the due diligence phase/pre-commitment and ownership of the integration and post-acquisition plans
  • Maintain acquisition plans and work with extended stakeholders to review project status and provide progress updates to development team and senior leadership alike.
  • Build out and continuously improve integration capabilities by identifying and developing process improvements, best practices, and tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the team
  • Help assess potential target companies, while providing an early voice on integration planning, potential risks, and overall challenges
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan, that includes all workstreams, to achieve acquisition success metrics
  • Monitor status and rapidly identify issues pertaining to an acquisition, succinctly communicate those issues to the appropriate teams, and work to resolve the issues before any acquisition value deteriorates
  • Work closely with our internal Operations, Quality, IT, Finance, Education, Risk, Marketing, Legal and Accounting teams to implement integration plans in a way that CDS fully recognize the value of the acquisition
  • Track and report integration processes and scorecards
