Skills, Education, and Experience

Skills:

Personal characteristics
  • Caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, fellow professional caregivers and parents or guardians
  • Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages
  • Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time
  • Physical abilities- Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, and lift to 25-40lbs daily

Education:
  • Documentation of High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 months' experience with children in a group setting, or at least 6 months' experience and 12 credit hours in early childhood education
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR

State of Arizona Requirements
  • Obtain a State of Arizona fingerprint Card
  • Tb Test
  • At least 25 years of age
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check

Experience
  • Possess a current driver license free of moving violations within the past two years

Responsibilities

When you join our team as a Bus Driver you will:

The Bus Driver/Lead Teacher demonstrates leadership abilities by maintaining a positive learning/teaching environment for all staff and students. The Lead Teacher has the ability to develop and implement activities appropriate to targeted age groups and will provide leadership in the implementation of each program. Lead Teachers are responsible for providing learning experiences for child based, company approved curriculum plans in a classroom setting. Work includes, but is not limited to instructing, administrating, directing, supervising Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aides within classroom and all educational activity.

Responsibilities
  • Establish routes, schedules, and procedures with the school director to maximize safety of children.
  • Adhere to the established schedule to the best of your ability.
  • Observe all Department of Motor Vehicle rules and regulations and make sure all speed limits are observed .
  • Complete a daily inspection of the bus, a weekly inspection of tires, oil, blades, etc. and report all bus maintenance issues to the Director.
  • Insure there is an adequate amount of fuel to complete the trip.
  • Ensure all state mandated items are present and in good working order.
  • Passenger Log forms should be completed as children arrive and depart the bus.
  • Keep the bus litter free and cleaned up after each bus runs .
  • Always ensure the safety of the children .
  • Meet and maintain all state licensing requirements/qualifications and always comply with all CNI Policies and Procedures .
  • Attending all staff training and pursuing professional training when available.
  • Maintain flexibility regarding the business demands of the school, including scheduled working hours and assignments.
  • Assist in other areas as requested by management.
  • Be able to lift amounts properly/safely in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures of the department assigned.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all personnel and business-related associates.
